Guarda's Enviro Chasing Services update

\t

\tGuarda Group Holdings' MD, Craig, Penty, provides this update:

\t"We have been lobbying government in WA for a number of years on wall chasing and safety relating to this. Last Friday we met with the WorkSafe Commissioner, Ian Munns, the leader of the Senate in WA, Kate Doust, and a number of the policy staff for the Minister for Mines, Safety, Commerce and Industrial Relations, Bill Johnston. We were able to get some commitments from WorkSafe to do more to promote safety in this area and to enforce and educate more robustly. This will assist us over competitors due to our equipment being far superior and safer than the other saws being used.

\tOn the 29th of May, I am the guest speaker at the meeting of the Master Builders Housing Council in WA. This council is composed of senior representatives of all the major WA building groups. We will push hard on the current levels of non-compliance in the sector and the risks and liabilities to builders of continuing to do so. We will also push for the banning of Quick Cut Saws for wall chasing across all the building groups. This is a step, that a couple of the major groups have already put in place. This presentation is a great opportunity to appeal to decision makers in the building groups for more attention to safety and to promote our service as a “no brainer” option for them to de-risk their business.

\tOn the local front, chasing work is starting to pour in the door and we will have an internal meeting this week to re-commence efforts to recruit more franchisees.

\tOn Guarda, we are almost ready to get the Edge Saw moulds made so we can manufacture the first run of this new saw. Our Sydney distributor is trying to negotiate a deal with one of their big customers for 100 FTR095 Saws."
